Dental Implants

    Dental implants are the best treatment option for replacing missing teeth.   For replacing a single missing tooth, the structures of the adjacent teeth do not need to be altered such as in the conventional bridge option.  Dental implants are almost like natural teeth.  With good oral hygiene maintenance, they could last a lifetime.

    Dental implants basically are titanium root replacement.  Their shapes closely mimic the shapes of natural dental roots.  Their surfaces are well designed and chemically-treated so that the host bone cells can easily integrate and intimately grow around their porous surface areas.  Once the bone integration has completed, dental implants become part of the jaw bone.  Patients do not even notice of their existence.  After complete bone integration, dental implants are very stable and can readily support dental prostheses such as crowns, implant-supported bridges or dentures.
Benefits of Dental Implants:
    * Enhanced quality of life
    * Adjacent teeth are not compromised to replace the missing teeth
    * Preservation of the integrity of alveolar bones
    * Look, feel and function like natural teeth
    * Improved denture retention
    * Improved ability to taste foods
    * Easy oral hygiene maintenance
    * Improved nutrition & proper digestion
A single tooth implant has three parts:

·  Implant:  a titanium root replacement which is surgically placed in the
             jawbone.
     ·  Abutment: an above-the-gum structure connects the implant to the
             crown.  It’s made of titanium, gold or zirconia.
     ·  Crown: similar to a regular crown.  It can be porcelain, gold, metal or
             porcelain-fused metal.  Sometimes, it is attached directly to the
             abutment as one unit.

At Brighton Dental, we provide services in both
dental implant surgery and implant restorations to our patients.
